F.A.Q's

How does Ecogum work?

We have a range of machines, all machines are carried in a lightweight backpack, with the unit attached to an ergonomic lance specially designed to ensure fast and easy operation. All machines house a lithium battery, In the Ecogum Maxi, Midi and Mini this operates the electrical components. The pump moves the detergent into the boiler in the lance, where it is then heated to approximately 95- 100 degrees Celsius. The Ecogum MaxE only uses a lithium battery, the detergent is also heated to approximately 95 degrees Celsius. This is the ideal temperature for vaporising gum and removing sticky labels without damaging the surface.

What consumables are required?

All of our machines require service packs. Ecogum E-MaxE battery service packs consist of 4 x 2-litre bottles of detergent, 2 stainless steel brushes and 1 soft-nylon brush. Ecogum Maxi, Midi and Mini gas service packs consist of 4x 2-litre bottles of detergent, two canisters of gas and two stainless steel brushes (soft brushes are available on request).

Does an Eco Gum Machine require any external power or water supply?

No, there is no external power or water supply required. This allows easy operation on the go without any trailing leads or noisy generators.

How is the heat generated?

In the Ecogum Maxi, Midi and Mini the detergent gets heated by two LPG gas canisters, enabling high performance that you can rely on regardless of the weather or surroundings. In the Ecogum E-MaxE, the detergent gets heated by a heater that is generated by a lithium battery.

What type of detergent is used?

We’re committed to using only eco-friendly products, so our unique cleaning solution is manufactured from renewable sources based on a sugar surfactant rather than oil, making it completely biodegradable.

How much does the unit weigh?

The weights of the machines and components are:

  • Ecogum E-MaxE – Empty 5.5 Kgs. Fully loaded (1 full bottle of detergent and the lithium battery): 8Kgs. Lance's weight is 1.4 kg.
  • Ecogum Maxi – Empty: 7.5 kgs. Fully loaded (1 full bottle of detergent and 2 canisters of gas): 9.5kgs.
  • Ecogum Midi – Empty: 5.5kgs. Fully loaded (1 full bottle of detergent and 2 canisters of gas): 7.5kgs.
  • Ecogum Mini – Empty: 5.5kgs. Fully loaded (1 full bottle of detergent and 2 canisters of gas): 7.5kgs.
  • The lance weighs 2 kgs.

What’s the difference between the Eco Gum models?

All machines offer the same performance, it’s the features and the way the heat is generated that differ. For example, the Ecogum E-Maxe is run solely on a lithium battery, it is lightweight and gives 80 minutes of continuous usage with an interchangeable battery. The Ecogum Maxi has a hard and robust outer casing, a handheld controller and an 8-hour continuous run time, making it the most effective eco-friendly cleaning solution.

What type of warranty is provided?

Each of our machines comes with a standard 12-month warranty, which covers all parts, labour and transport costs. The warranty is based on fair usage and the use of our recommended consumables.

What happens if the Eco Gum breaks down?

All of our machines deliver not just high performance but also reliability. However, if there’s a problem, please contact us on 0121 565 3087, where a member of our team will assist you. If you’re based outside the United Kingdom, please contact the distributor or dealer that sold you your machine and they will assist you further.
